University Library Brown Bag Sessions: Copyright & Teaching

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

The U of L Library would like to invite the university community to our Lunch & Learn Brown Bag Sessions.

Our first session will be presented by Dr. Rumi Graham, University Copyright Advisor:

Copyright & Teaching

Monday, September 28th

Noon – 1 p.m.

L950

As copyright on campus continues to change, are you confused or uncertain about how copyright relates to teaching?  Do you have examples of copyrighted materials (texts? images? music? video? . . . ) for which you’re not sure if permission is needed to copy, distribute, or perform them in your courses? This is intended to be an interactive session, so come prepared to share your copyright questions, and glean some tips on how to evaluate the copyright and permission status of materials you use or would like to use in teaching.

Please also mark your calendar for our next session, presented by Michael Perry, University Archivist:

“Support U of L.  Integrity…autonomy”; The fight for the westside site. Lethbridge 1967-1968.

 October 21st

Noon – 1 p.m.

L950

Mike will discuss the history of the fight for the university’s location, introducing the key players and arguments that were instrumental in positioning the U of L campus where it is today.

These presentations should have wide appeal to various departments on campus, so please tell your departments/friends/colleagues!

Future sessions to be announced shortly… In the meantime, if you have an idea for future sessions you’d like to see, e-mail me & we’ll do our best to make it happen!
