Tutoring Services, a part of the University of Lethbridge Student Success Centre, is hiring student tutors for all areas of study and for all campuses.

 

The role of the tutor is to assist U of L students in their academic development through regular study sessions that focus on increasing the understanding of concepts in a specific course. Tutoring may occur individually or in a small group setting. Sessions take place on campus during predetermined times where both the tutor and student(s) are available.

 

Responsibilities:

Contact assigned students within two days of receiving the assignment.

Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled tutoring sessions.

Establish a supportive relationship with student(s).

Use good listening and assessment skills to determine the student’s learning style.

Help students identify achievable study objectives.

Complete and hand in all required paperwork.

Maintain confidentiality.

 

Qualifications

Full/Part Time Student Status in the 2015 Spring or Fall Semester.

Achieved a grade of B+ or greater in the course(s) to be tutored.

Responsible, dependable, honest, and mature.

Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diversity of students.
