Corporal Lloyd Schoepp, B. Comm

Lloyd Schoepp is a member of the RCMP’s Financial Integrity Unit based in Calgary and conducts investigations of serious financial crimes including bribery of foreign public officials.  He has over 13 years with the RCMP, including specialized experience in Commercial Crime and 6 years with the International Anti-Corruption Unit.  Previous to joining the RCMP Lloyd spent 11 years working at a financial institution. He is listed as one of Canada's Governmental Experts for the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Review Mechanism. 

Presentation Description

Increasingly, local communities, the media, NGOs, consumers, and civil society in general are demanding that business be carried out in an ethical and socially responsible manner.  It is also profitable to conduct business in this manner.  Progress has been made by many companies operating responsibly in highly regulated countries, there remains challenges in less developed regions.  Canadian companies face several obstacles operating around the world especially in relation to corruption.  This presentation will focus on the challenges that Canadian companies face as it relates to CSR and corruption and the steps companies need to consider when operating in higher risk environments.
