Talking About Teaching – “What We Learned…”

This session of Talking About Teaching sill focus on what some folks learned during the transition to online learning.

Speakers include 

Olu Awosoga, Health Sciences

Olu will be speaking about Academic Integrity and how it was affected during the move to online.

Susan Findlay, Chemistry & Biochemistry

Susan will be sharing her experience with moving some of her assessments online and the tools she used. She will also be discussing the importance of building community in your online course. 

Glen MacKinnon, Fine Arts – Art Department

Glen will be speaking about transitioning typically hands on art studio courses for both first year and experienced students fine arts students. Glen will discuss confidence levels of students at the differing stages as well as how he has been engaging his students in an online environment with Zoom. 

Jennifer Burke, Biological Sciences

Jenny will be discussing the move of her biolabs to the online sphere and her attempts to try and recreate the lab experience for her students. She will discuss her use of Zoom as well as the checks and balances she uses to ensure her students are getting the skills the need for their assessments.
