Stage Combat Workshops with Paul Gelineau

The University of Lethbridge is excited to welcome Paul Gélineau, Director of the Academy of Fight Directors Canada.  He is offering TWO workshops on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the David Spinks Theatre.

Workshop 1
Unarmed Stage and Screen Combat Workshop 
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of unarmed combat for actors and stuntpersons and explore the expressive nature of violence in character and choreography. 
10:00 am to 12:30 pm 
Maximum 32 participants

Workshop 2
Lightsaber 101 (Battle Workshop)
This workshop introduces the original fight techniques created by Bob Anderson for the Star Wars movies.
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm 
Maximum 24 participants

Paul Gélineau is the Director of the Academy for Fight Directors Canada. For Lightsaber Workshops he calls himself Pauly-One Kanobi.  Paul was granted the title of FM by the College of Fight Masters in 2006. He has taught stage combat through FDC and independently at all of the premiere actor training programs across Canada as well as at several schools abroad. He has choreographed violence for hundreds of productions in both small and large theatres, opera and producing houses and currently serves as the Director of the Academy for Fight Directors Canada. He is currently on Faculty at the University of the Fraser Valley and maintains a freelance directing career.
