The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a special session with Dr. Vincent Larivière as he discusses the merits of open science.

What is Open Science and Why Does it Matter?

Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room, Lethbridge Public Library downtown

Vincent Larivière is professor of information science at the Université de Montréal, where he holds the Canada Research Chair on the Transformations of Scholarly Communication. Vincent holds a bachelor’s in science, technology and society, a master’s in history of science and a PhD in information science, for which he received the Eugene Garfield Dissertation Scholarship award.

These events are sponsored by U of L and its Centre for the Study of Scholarly Communications (CSSC), Lethbridge College, Lethbridge Public Library and SACPA.

Both events are free and open to all.
