RNA and Epigenetics Symposium with Gairdner Keynote

The Alberta RNA Research and Training Institute (ARRTI) will be hosting an RNA and Epigenetics Symposium at the University of Lethbridge, complete with a keynote lecture from Canada Gairdner International Award winner, Dr. Azim Surani, from the University of Cambridge.

The event will begin at 1:30 pm with a keynote lecture by Canada Gairdner International Award winner Dr. Azim Surani, from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Surani has received this Gairdner Award for the discovery of mammalian genomic imprinting that causes parent-of-origin specific gene expression and its consequences for development and disease. This will be followed by a networking coffee break at 3:00 p.m.

At 3:30, we will start our lightning talks. These will consist of 10-minute slots, where the presenter will present 20 slides with 20 seconds per slide (total of 6 minutes, 40 seconds). The presentation will be followed by a short question period. Please keep questions concise, to maintain the speed of the event. The talks will wrap up at 5:00 pm, upon which there will be time for additional networking.

If you would like to present a talk, please indicate this in your registration, and send an abstract to RNA@uleth.ca. Abstract submission deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018.
