Play Right Prize Virtual Reading & Awards

The Faculty of Fine Arts is proud to announce the recipients of the 2021 Play Right Prize competition:

First prize: Jessica Syratt | The Evening Comes | $1500, dramaturgical support and a virtual play reading
Second prize: Daylin Chase | Neosapien | $750 and dramaturgical support
Third prize: Avery Olson | Two Women on A Bench in the Middle of Winter | $250 and dramaturgical support.

Please join us in celebrating the 2021 Play Right Prize recipients, AND the 2020 Play Right Prize recipients, at a virtual play reading Thursday, April 8 at 6pm where we’ll hear both the 2021 winning play, and the postponed reading of Quinn Larder’s The Murder, recipient of the 2020 Play Right Prize.  The 2021 Play Right Prize jury was made up of Drama faculty members Dr. Shelley Scott and Dr. Justin Blum, and Trevor Rueger from Alberta Playwright’s Network who will also provide dramaturgical support to the 2nd and 3rd prize plays.
