New Student Orientation Fall 2014

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

New Student Orientation will take place on Monday, September 1 and Tuesday, September 2, 2014.

Did you know studies show if you attend orientation, you are more likely to succeed throughout your academic career? It's true!

On September 1 & 2, your attendance at New Student Orientation (NSO) is essential. Even if you attended Ahead of the Herd in June, took part in a tour of campus and followed the To-do List, this is an important final step before starting classes.

During these two immersive days you will:

  • Be welcomed into the U of L family at our commencement ceremony.
  • Learn what will take place inside the classroom, including: what to bring, expectations of your professors, how you'll be graded, tips for academic success, resources available outside of the classroom etc.
  • Discover more about your program and the unique opportunities available, such as co-operative education, internships, international exchanges, applied studies and much more.
  • Have the opportunity to join a club, pick up your Fresh Fest package and choose an intramural sport.
  • Realize you’re not alone! You'll meet other new students in the same situation as you — a little nervous and full of excitement.
  • Have fun!
