National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence against Women Commemoration | December 6

On the National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence against Women we pay tribute to the 14 women murdered in the mass shooting at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal on December 6, 1989.

The University Library invites you to remember those who have been impacted by gender-based violence by visiting the Women’s Peace Garden on Level 10 South. Each planter in the garden commemorates one of the women lost at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.

This is an informal drop-in event throughout the day. Feel free to attend in groups or on your own for quiet contemplation. We will have a display highlighting our resources on activism to end gender-based violence.

DAY/TIME:  December 6, all day

LOCATION: Women’s Peace Garden, Level 10 South, University Library
