In this recital, James Scott performs works by A. Guilmant, L. Mozart, S. Sulek, and C. Small.

James Scott has been the Principal Trombone of the Calgary Philharmonic and the Trombone Instructor at the University of Calgary since 1981. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Juilliard School, where he was a scholarship student of Edward Herman, Jr. Additional studies have been taken with Joseph Alessi, Frank Crisafulli, and Arnold Jacobs. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, l’orchestre symphonique de Montreal, the New Jersey Symphony and the National Ballet Orchestra of Canada. James has been a regular soloist with the CPO, performing solo works by David, Wagenseil, Tomasi, and Grondahl.
