Moving Towards Inclusion? A critical disability 'audit' of parasport websites in Canada Sport and recreation have been internationally championed as basic rights of people experiencing disability, as well as vehicles for their broader social inclusion. Although the Canadian Government (2013) claims that our parasport system is a strong exemplar of disability inclusion-through-sport, only 3% of Canadians with disabilities have regular access to organized sport (Canadian Paralympic Committee, 2013). This presentation offers insights into how disability inclusion is represented and enacted through the websites of Canada’s “inclusive” parasport system. Preliminary results illuminate how discourses and practices relating to both disability and inclusion may be working against the goal of creating safe, meaningful, and engaged movement opportunities for a wide range of people experiencing disability and offers grounded insight into what we can do about it.  Danielle Peers is a former Paralympian-turned-Academic who uses critical disability and poststructural theories to study disability movement cultures including Parasport, inclusive recreation, and disability arts. Danielle is a Vanier, Trudeau and Banting scholar, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta.
