Low back pain prevention: Communication, marketing, and other approaches to behavior change

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

Low back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide and in Alberta. Efforts are needed to align practice with the research evidence, including reducing the focus on ineffective medical treatment while ensuring the promotion of activity and function.

Doug Gross (Professor, Department of Physical Therapy, University of Alberta and Burns Scholar, Dhillon School of Business, University of Lethbridge) is at the forefront of this research, and his presentation will highlight international health promotion efforts for back pain and discuss necessary future directions as relevant to Alberta and beyond. The session is open to interested faculty, staff, students, and interested community partners.
