University of Lethbridge students traveling abroad in conjunction with a University sponsored activity or program or involving academic work for credit are required to attend a pre-departure orientation prior to leaving Canada.
The pre departure orientation explores UofL policy and procedure in relation to international travel and provides resources on how to take steps to safeguard health, safety and security while abroad. The orientation is designed for students on international exchange, practicum or co-op opportunities.
The in person orientation occurs in a classroom setting with connecting video conference to the Calgary campus. Each session offered is one hour in duration and students need only attend one. Prior to attending it is strongly recommended that country specific travel advisories and advice be reviewed at the Government of Canada travel abroad pages: http://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories.
