Information Session - PolicyWise Secondary Analysis to Generate Evidence (SAGE)

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

The Secondary Analysis to Generate Evidence (SAGE) initiative from PolicyWise for Children and Families (formerly ACCFCR) is intended to create evidence-informed policy and practice through optimal use of data. PolicyWise aims to improve outcomes for Alberta’s children, youth, families and communities through using and combining data in new ways to inform social, educational and health policy, practice and service planning.

Please join Amanda Lau, Project Coordinator at PolicyWise, on Jan. 11 to learn more about the SAGE initiative and for an opportunity to learn more.

SAGE is a value-added data and research platform that enables the secondary use of data related to child and youth development, health and well-being. It currently contains research data, and at a later stage we aim to also house administrative and service delivery data, such as non-profits. For example, data from food banks and homeless shelters. Technical infrastructure and governance processes are in place to ensure ethical use and the privacy of participants. SAGE provides a broad array of services that support data management, analysis and dissemination to increase the value of data assets. SAGE is leveraging PolicyWise’ expertise in the following areas:

  • Building partnerships with government policy makers and community practitioners;
  • Enabling secondary research, data linkage and data analytics;
  • Mobilizing knowledge;
  • Building capacity in Alberta.
