How are memories made?

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

Annually, since 2002, the graduate students at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience have invited an internationally renowned researcher to hold a lecture at the University of Lethbridge. These talks carry the name of Brenda Milner, one of the most acclaimed scientists in Canada and also the first guest of the series.  The Brenda Milner Lecture Series (BMLS) is organized entirely by the neuroscience graduate student body – from selecting and inviting the speakers to organising and fundraising for the event.

As the 2018 BMLS committee, we are excited to inform you of the upcoming 16th annual lecture. This year we are pleased to welcome Dr. Eleanor Maguire as the BMLS keynote speaker and guest of honour. Dr. Maguire is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscienceat the University College London, who piloted the famous “London Taxi Driver Study” which provided pivotal evidence linking structural changes in the brain to memory. This exciting talk is open to the public and will be held on Tuesday, June 19th, at 7:00 pm, in the Theater of the Lethbridge Public Library.
