The Grad Teaching Forum is a monthly peer support and mentorship platform for graduate students who are engaged in or enthusiastic about teaching. Find support for your questions or concerns about teaching in a confidential setting. This forum is run by a graduate student who will suggest monthly topics for discussion that are driven by graduate-student needs. As this forum will be tailored to your needs, you are encouraged to suggest topics for future meetings!

To connect graduate students with resources, we will invite two experts to these meetings: We will invite a faculty member who is invested in teaching, provides great teaching mentorship, and has experienced our current topic in their teaching career. We will also invite a Teaching Centre educational facilitator who has expertise in strategizing about our current topic and will help provide tangible solutions and answers to your questions.

Who Should Attend?

Any graduate student interested or involved in teaching – no matter how much or little, or at what level!

What Are the Topics?

Topics will be provided in advance, but we will have time to discuss beyond the topic. We welcome topic suggestions from you! Send them in advance or leave them at the end of our meeting. 

Will We Only Discuss One Topic?

While we will ensure that questions related to our monthly topic are addressed, there will also be room for informal discussion. All questions related to teaching welcome!

How Much Time Do I Have to Commit?

We will spend one hour per month to discuss a specific topic. Join any month.
