Darrin Martens is currently the CEO/Executive Director of the Galt Museum & Archives. His 25+ year career in museums includes Director/Curator roles at the West Vancouver Museum & Archives, Burnaby Art Gallery and Nisga’a Museum. As a curator he served as the Gail and Stephen A Jerisowky Chief Curator at the Audain Art Museum and Senior Curator of Art at the Peel Art Gallery. A graduate of UBC, Martens holds an MA in Art History with a focus on critical curatorial studies. He is also an alum of the Claremont Graduate University’s Getty Trust Museum Leadership Institute. Martens has contributed to over 50 publications and taught through the University of Victoria’s Cultural Resource Management programs on topics of critical curatorship and management of cultural organizations.
