Mandy Espezel is a Canadian artist originally from Fort McMurray, Alberta. She received her BFA from the University of Alberta in 2007, and her MFA from the University of Lethbridge in 2012. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and residencies within Canada and has received support for her work from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Canada Council for the Arts. Recent solo exhibitions within Canada include the exhibitions “Pine Cones in Soft Mouths” at Casa Public Art Gallery, and “HEY NOW(s), WELLNESS CHECK(s), and other improbable obsessions” at Harcourt House Gallery. International residencies and exhibitions include “slipping into & against” withStudio PRÁM in Prague, Czech Republic (May, 2018); “Drip and Tickle: nothing ever is not true, nothing ever is always real” at Space Gachang Art Gallery, Gachang Art Studio in Korea (Jan-March, 2019); and “A Few Haptic Possibilities” at Trükimuuseum Gallery, with Tartu Artist in Residence in Estonia (April-June, 2019). Espezel has been an instructor of studio art at the post secondary level for over 8 years, and is based in Lethbridge, Alberta.
