This lecture covers the collaborative process of experimental narrative cinematic work through experimentation and creation; how it began and where it is going.

Sandi Somers is a multi-award-winning film and video artist whose work has been featured across North America and in festivals around the world.  With over 75 films behind her, Sandi continues to create thought-provoking works in various genres.  She creates dance films, music videos, dramas, comedies, and video installations.  Sandi is a recipient of AMAAS’ Spirit of Helen Award for her contributions to Alberta’s media arts community and was invited to The Cannes Film Festival: Short Corner Program.  Her work in theatre often integrates the various technologies including video, projection, photography and antiquated technology such as film projectors.  Sandi’s theatre and dance design work has been with companies including The Alberta Ballet and Springboard Dance, Calgary’s One Yellow Rabbit, ATP, Theatre in Exile, and various interdisciplinary collectives.
