This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

Michael Campbell is interested in obsolete technologies, remote landscapes, purposeless inventions, suburban boredom, bad sci-fi films, utopic schemes, adolescent fantasy sketchbooks and handmade tools.

Dr. Janice Rahn has been working on a series of female arbor forms for the past few years, in porcelain, bamboo and willow, charcoal/ink drawings, and monoprints.  She recently showed them at her gallery The Vidourle Prix in Sauve, France.  She also makes documentary videos and collaborative audio video installations with Michael Campbell, most recently shown at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and at the Kulteren der Welt in Berlin.

Rahn wrote a book on graffiti subculture, Painting Without Permission, published by Bergen and Garvey, and  Viewfinding, Perspectives on New Media Curriculum in the Arts, published by Peter Lang. Her numerous catalogues and articles explore identity development in young people, peer influence, learning communities, performing/communicating in public space, the rigor of creating, the pedagogy of critique and critical thinking, and contemporary art practice and the education of artists.
