Alex studied art and architecture at the School of Architecture at the University of Waterloo and theUniversity of Rome where he also worked in the offices of Massimilliano Fuksas. In 2010, he left theArchitecture Association School (AA) in London, England to co-found PARTISANS in Toronto. Heis the only Canadian to ever receive the New York Prize Fellowship at the Van Alen Institute in NewYork, and was named a Globe and Mail Catalyst for architecture and design in 2013. Alex is a lecturerat the Daniels School of Architecture at the University of Toronto and an architectural columnist forMetro, Canada’s most widely read daily newspaper.
