The 12th Annual Meeting of the Minds Inter-Disciplinary Conference

The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) is pleased to invite students, faculty, staff and community members to attend the 12th Annual Meeting of the Minds Inter-Disciplinary Conference on the 24th of March, 2018 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in the Markin Hall Atrium. Free parking is available at the University on the day of the event. 

This year's theme is "Accessibility" The theme was chosen to honor the ever increasing need to bridge the gap between academia and application and to create environments where research is accessible and inclusive.

09:20 am to 10:20 am - Session I (A & B)

10:30 am to 11:30 am - Session II (A & B) 

11:40 am to 12:40 pm - Session III (A & B) 

12:40 am to 01:30 pm - Lunch and Performance

01.30 pm to 02:00 pm - Keynote Address

02:10 pm to 03:10 pm - Session IV (A & B) 

03:20 pm to 04:20 pm - Session V (A & B)

04:30 pm to 05:30 pm - Session VI (A & B)

05:30 pm to 06:00 pm - Art and Poster Walk

06:00 pm to 07:00 pm - Dinner 

 

The video submissions will be playing on loop on our monitors all day. The interactive installation experience will be available all day.

The keynote address; "Fifty Years Plus One: Liberal Education at the U of L" will be given by Dr Shelly Wismath. Dr Wismath will speak about the new School of Liberal Education and what it means for the U of L in its 51st year and in the future. Dr Wismath was awarded the University of Lethbridge’s Distinguished Teaching Award, held the inaugural Board of Governors’ Teaching Chair, and in 2017 was named a 3M National Teaching Fellow. In October 2017 she was appointed as the first Dean of the University’s new School of Liberal Education.
