Frequently Asked Questions

These instructions will create persistent links that work both on and off campus.

Instructions:

  1. Connect to Cambridge Journals Online database from the Library’s database page
  2. Conduct a search
  3. From the search results list, choose the relevant title > highlight the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) directly below the journal title
  4. To convert a DOI to a URL, precede it with the following:

http://dx.doi.org/

For example: 10.1017/S1743921308021376

Becomes:  http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/S1743921308021376

Now add the UofL Library's proxy to your permanent link.

For example:  http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/S1743921308021376

Becomes:  http://0-dx.doi.org.darius.uleth.ca/10.1017/S1743921308021376

Note:  Some databases may not offer persistent links.  For further information, contact your subject librarian or use our Ask Us service.
