Found in a box full of family history they go back to the Scottish settlements founded in the vicinity of Waddington and Madrid, New York following the War of 1812.

Inscribed: Presented to Miss Ellen Reddon by brother Philip January 1882
Ellen went to North Dakota from Carrick Twp, Bruce County, Ontario to live with her sister Anne McMillan. There she met and married Thomas Mark Haig who had moved from New York to North Dakota in 1887.
