Great Adventures
Working with educators for over 40 years, I promoted the idea that the best way to learn history is to experience it. Taking this further maybe one should really say, the best way to learn about our world - past and present is to experience it. When people would tell me they were going up to Baffin Island for a summer holiday, I could never understand why. Now I know. When people, victims of civil strife in South America would have the opportunity to come to Canada and later want to return home, I could not understand why. Now I know. I call them Great Adventures. You can call them Learning Vacations or whatever you like. One thing is for sure. They will change the way you think about things.
