The University of Lethbridge will be hosting 5 campus community consultations on the issue of cannabis use in response to the pending legalization in July 2018.
Utilizing the Government of Alberta Cannabis Framework www.alberta.ca/cannabis-framework.aspx and the proposed Alberta Legislation (Bill 26) www.assembly.ab.ca/net/index.aspx?p=bills_status&selectbill=026&legl=29&session=3 , the community consultations will be an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to provide input on the campus implementation of the cannabis framework.
Each Community Consultation will pose the following questions to the group:
Discussion questions for the community consultations:
A. Personal, recreational cannabis use:
- What should we consider when implementing the Cannabis framework and proposed legislation at the University of Lethbridge?
- How do we ensure that we respect the health and safety of users and non-users?
B. Medicinal cannabis use:
- Medicinal cannabis use has been legalized for many years. Have there been any gaps in the way the University has been accommodating its use?
- Do you have any additional thoughts related to the use of medicinal cannabis at the U of L?
