He went on to study law at the University of Saskatchewan. Kyle had a passion for hockey and music and believed strongly in equal opportunity for all. In his long and high-level hockey career, Kyle played on teams such as the Junior A Yorkton Terriers and the UBC Thunderbirds. He was known by all as a great teammate. While pursuing his post-secondary studies in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, Kyle continued to play hockey and music with his friends and teammates.

The Kyle Block Scholarship assists worthy recipients to pursue post-secondary studies who are or have been active in competitive sport, music, fine arts or social issues.
