Bridging to Your New Career

Accounting and finance professionals are recognized world-wide for their strategic thinking, financial expertise, business insights and leadership. The Professional Diploma in Accounting (CPA Bridging) at the University of Lethbridge provides the competencies and experience you need for your career and advancement, by building on your existing academic background.

Our flexible and high-quality program also prepares you for entry into the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP), the path to Canada’s most pre-eminent business and accounting designation. If you have a degree in any discipline, you can complete the business and accounting courses needed while you continue to work full time.

Adding our Professional Diploma in Accounting (CPA Bridging) to your existing undergraduate education allows you to stand out in a career market where employers are searching for diversity and breadth.

Building On Your Prior Education

Our recognition of prior education aims to provide you with the most direct route to your accounting credential, and you can choose to study the courses you need at a pace that works for you. We offer evening and weekend classes in Calgary, and daytime classes in Lethbridge, taught by PhD and professionally qualified instructors.

The University of Lethbridge also supports your career success outside the classroom. We provide a comprehensive approach to career success through networking opportunities, career counselling, industry information events, student professional development and more. Students are also eligible for paid co-operative work terms with employers in their field of study.

Tips on Applying

Apply to the Professional Diploma in Accounting (CPA Bridging) through the APPLY NOW link below. While your application is in progress, you need to have a transcript assessment completed by CPA Alberta. This allows us to streamline your program and exempt you from courses you have already taken.

If you were educated outside of Canada, you will also require a basic evaluation by IQASICES or WES (or by any member of the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada).

Additional Scholarships:

Enrolling in CPA Bridging at uLethbridge maintains your student status, making you eligible for student loans, scholarships and bursaries. In addition to several undergraduate awards, we also offer two awards specifically for bridging students.

Thanks to the generosity of two distinguished donors to the CA Education Foundation, financial assistance is available to eligible Bridging Program students. Financial assistance for students and for program implementation was also provided through a generous grant from the Government of Alberta's Community Spirit Program.
