WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Coming from a small high school in central Alberta (graduation class size: 7), Leeann Klassen says uLethbridge offered just what she was looking for: “small classes, opportunities to work with professors, a diverse campus and a beautiful, active community.”
Originally a biology major, Leeann became a double major after taking an intro anthropology class her first semester. “The professor was very inspiring and by the end of the term my view of the world had shifted,” she says.
Since then, Leeann has travelled to Ecuador, worked with professors on research projects and completed three co-op terms, including a placement at the Research Station.
When she’s not studying in the University Library, Leeann can be found volunteering, going to music shows downtown with friends or practising Karate (she’s a black belt).
“uLethbridge has challenged me. It’s opened up my mind, expanded my experiences and provided infinite opportunities — all of which have helped shape who I am and what I want,” she says.
As for her future plans: “I’m hoping to pursue either a master’s degree or medical school,” she says.
