My research is primarily qualitative or mixed methods in nature, though I do frequently work in multidisciplinary teams that utilize psychometrics.

My research focuses both on the development of writing ability across the lifespan, and on issues in writing assessment. My work on writing assessment addresses broader issues of validity, fairness, ethics, and justice in assessment design and use.
