The Master of Education (Counselling Psychology) program is designed to provide training for people who want to develop professional skills and certification in counselling psychology. The emphasis of the program is on the provision of counsellor training for those individuals who aspire to be a Canadian Certified Counsellor or Registered Psychologist.
The program is designed around rigorous adherence to accreditation standards, and current ethical professional practice. Students are prepared to work with diverse populations and settings as a registered psychologist/professional counsellor, and as a researcher in the field.
The MEd (General) allows students to study in an area that fulfills their interests and professional needs, and builds upon their current knowledge. The program is designed for working professionals, with online learning being complemented by face-to-face components in July.
The Master of Education (Educational Leadership) program reflects recent shifts in the knowledge base and in the restructuring of educational leadership programs worldwide using a 21st Century professional practice competencies approach which integrates theory and practice. The program particularly reflects the Faculty of Education’s commitment to prepare leaders for schools and school jurisdictions.
