Mainstage and TheatreXtra Auditions
The Drama Department has an open audition policy in respect to the season presented. Preference will be given to BFA- Dramatic Arts students.
Audition dates for all department productions are posted here and may, in addition, be posted at other locations both on and off campus. If at all possible, audition information should be posted two weeks before auditions.
Style and format of auditions are left to the Director's discretion, however, all persons wishing to audition for a department production are required to:
- Read the play in its entirety before auditioning.
- Sign up for an audition time, if applicable.
- Come to the audition prepared; specific requirements will be posted on audition notices.

Those interested are asked to submit the following by August 15, 2020:
- A cover letter indicating your interest in devised theatre and why you'd like to participate in a show about sexuality, gender and identity.
- A video which showcases a special skill (music, dance, poetry, movement, gymnastics, writing, etc...)
- Video submissions should be uploaded to YouTube as a private video.

Performers: Actors/Dancers/Movers
Choreographer/Assistant Director
Those auditioning as performers are asked to submit the following:
• A video audition performance incorporating text and movement (1-2 mins)
• A cover letter detailing your performance background and interests
Those applying for the position of choreographer/assistant director are asked to submit a short video featuring your original choreography and a cover letter detailing your interest in the play.
Audition videos and letters should be emailed to Shawn Coburn at shawn.coburn@uleth.ca by December 10, 2020

Spring 2021 TheatreXtra Production:
In Omnia Paratus
Show information: In Omnia Paratus is a choose-your-own adventure style greek tragedy, exploring the themes of fault and regret. There are three possible plotlines for audiences to follow, and as such there are three potential stories. Utilizing elements of both classical theatre and modern zoom technology, the play explores the tragedy of Grecian theatre in an exciting video-game esque format, new to Uleth theatre.
Audition Information:
Please send video submissions and actor’s resumes to Melanie at friesen3@uleth.ca by no later than Monday, January 4th
Requirements:
-One modern monologue; no longer than 90 seconds
-One classical monologue; no longer than 90 seconds (preferably greco-roman)
-Your actors resume
Cast: 6-11+
*This show has a chorus, and multiple strand specific characters, as such most actors will be cast in more than one role.*
Callbacks will be Wednesday, January 6th. Please contact either Melanie or Jessica about any scheduling conflicts.

TheatreXtra’s upcoming online Spring production IN OMNIA PARATUS is looking for some helping hands. We are looking for a stage manager as well as a lighting and costume designer. If you are interested please email theatre.xtra@uleth.ca with what position interests you the most.
