Vicky Chiasson, originally from Brooks, Alberta, works primarily with photography and sculpture. Through her work, she questions customs and behaviours from her surrounding that she believes should be criticized. She hopes that in slightly altering symbolic objects will help gear conversation towards asking ourselves why we do the thing we do and explore possible alternatives. This semester, Chiasson has been focusing on issues related to fast fashion, from an environmentalist and minimalist perspective. She’s also been experimenting with long exposures with a digital camera to create drawings and building her own cameras out of plywood.
