The Space Management and Allocation Policy is an institutional policy which addresses the management of all space resources and their allocation to units. The intent of the policy is to define university space resources, maximize the use of space and define who is responsible for managing space resources and the process by which space is to be fairly allocated.
The policy provides a mandate to Campus Planning to periodically assess how space is allocated to specific units and provide resources to the institution to carry out this assessment work. Campus Planning also maintains the master inventory of space allocations and classifications at the University. To that end, space managers present in individual units must inform Campus Planning of any proposed changes to the assignment or use of existing space in advance of acting on any change to the use of the institution's space resources.
