Abstract
Recognizing that obesity and lack of physical activity are a foundation for other ailments, there is an increasing trend to promote physical activity and reduce obesity in the general populace. Pedometers are being used by the public in an attempt to quantify and also help motivate physical activity. This study attempts to examine the results of a curriculum-based pedometer program carried out by pre-adolescent students and their teachers in an elementary school in Berea, Kentucky over a period of ten weeks.
