Abstract
This project focuses on issues facing a French Immersion program in a dual-track school in Southern Alberta. This study uses information collected from the following: graduate classes, interviews conducted with my fellow French and English school teachers, administrators and parents, conferences I have attended, as well as a review of the latest research conducted in this area. The project includes the following sections. The first section describes why the French immersion program is important to me as a student and as a teacher. The second section is an introduction to the French immersion program. The third section deals with my current teaching position at our French immersion school, Agnes Davidson. The fourth section describes the issues faced in Canada's French immersion programs as well as at Agnes Davidson School. The final section recommends ways of keeping Agnes Davidson's French immersion program alive and well.
