Shine with us
At the Dhillon School of Business, our aim is to become recognized as one of the most innovative and leading edge business schools in Canada. We want to be renowned for our tradition of providing cutting-edge, industry-focused programs and disciplinary depth, while also developing the transformational learning opportunities and socially relevant research that help make the world a better place through socially responsible and ethical enterprise.
We have inspired, thoughtful and energetic students who are discovering their purpose, and in doing so, helping us reach our ambitions of excellence. We also need your support to achieve this goal.
Every donation you give to the University of Lethbridge helps us improve and support exceptional educational experiences and develop groundbreaking research—allowing us to shape and educate the future leaders of our city, province, country and the world.
Scholarship Fundraising Dinner
Each year the Dhillon School of Business and its advisory board acknowledge the contributions of an outstanding member of our community through the Scholarship Fundraising Dinner. Donations raised by the dinner then establish a scholarship fund in the name of the honouree. Proceeds from this fund are used to provide deserving students with financial support that will assist them in attaining their educational goals. To date, more than $2 million has been raised for student scholarships because of this event.
This year, on April 9, the Perry family will be honoured. The Perry family are fourth-generation farmers (1909) in Chin, Alberta who currently own and operate the award-winning 5,280-acre Perry Family Farm. They primarily grow potatoes and are a major supplier for brands such as Frito-Lay, McCain and Bonduelle. They were recently named McCain’s “Top Potato Grower” and have been a Top 10 finalist for this consideration for the last nine years. In 2008, they were named Frito-Lay’s Canadian Supplier of the year.
The Perrys are leaders in data driven and sustainable agriculture. They were McCain Foods Canada National Environmental Award Winner in 2011. In 2013, they designed and constructed the GrowTEC Biogas Plant, which produces over 4,000 MWh of renewable electricity per year from manure and organic waste - enough energy to power 1,000 homes. They have spoken at the Paris Accord and Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue about their sustainable agriculture practices.
Proceeds from the dinner go to creating an annual scholarship in the name of the Perry family, providing students with essential financial support to assist them in attaining their educational goals. Without the support of donors like you, many students would find funding their post-secondary dreams next to impossible.
