Students with Disabilities

The Navigator Program

Respect, inclusivity, and equity are part of our core values and the Co-op team is committed to supporting students with disabilities.

Thanks to a generous donation by CIBC, the Navigator Program was launched during the Spring 2020 semester. This program is built on inclusivity and accessibility, and is driven toward the support and development of disability-confident and inclusive Co-op placements. The project is a collaboration between the Co-op programs and the University of Lethbridge’s Accommodated Learning Centre, and is focused on supporting inclusive work environments that will foster success for all involved.

Students with disabilities will be provided with:

  • supports and tools to identify and leverage their individual strengths
  • assistance in creating individualized workplace plans to include supportive accommodations
  • resources to become skilled at self-advocacy

We strongly encourage students with disabilities to register with the Accommodated Learning Centre, as they play an important role in guiding students through the process of identifying accommodation needs, and seeking out resources to fulfill those needs.

We are here to provide supports for students with disabilities, and guide them on their journey to seek Co-op work placements in inclusive and accommodating work environments.
