Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy | with James Boettcher

Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 | 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. | Virtual presentation

James Boettcher
James Boettcher, CEO of Righteous Gelato
Join James as he recounts his entrepreneurial journey from buying a scoop shop business in Calgary with a handshake deal and $1,800 in his pocket, to leading a team of 40 dreamers and doers, to a $10 million cult brand available in every major retailer in Canada. The 10-year-long 'overnight success' story of Righteous Gelato includes all the "F words" including fiasco, fires, flood and freedom. James tells us about the freedom to choose when (never) to give up, the freedom he took to claim his organization's true name and identity against the advice of everyone close to the company, and the freedom to use business as a force for good, against all odds.

James' drive to do business differently, passion for creating something that makes the world awesome, and humble desire to create the kind of company you would want your mom or dad to work for takes the audience on a journey that is at times hilarious, poignant, sweet and downright unbelievable.
