Message from the President

President Mike MahonThis year, the University of Lethbridge celebrates its 45th anniversary, giving us an opportunity to reflect on all that is the U of L – our past, present and future. This means recognizing our students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members whose hard work and determination made the U of L what it is today, and it is my pleasure to invite you back to the University on October 12, 13 and 14 for Homecoming 2012.
Forty-five years ago the U of L was built on a commitment to students and the student experience, small classes and the liberal arts. Those founding principles are still at the forefront of what we do and today the U of L is respected around the globe and is recognized as a destination research-intensive university with a focus on both undergraduate and graduate education.
Over the years, many individuals have been proud to call this university their own and each helped to forge a path forward based on a shared vision. Thank you for making the University of Lethbridge your university.

As part of the celebration, we have been recollecting and retelling stories from our history. If you have a U of L story to tell, I encourage you to share it at By sharing your story, you help the University tell its story.

Please join us as we celebrate our many accomplishments. I hope to see you at Homecoming 2012.
