We are pleased to announce the 2018 Speaker Research Award recipient is Dr. Gerlinde Metz. Dr. Metz is renowned for her major contributions to the study of neuroscience and a research program that has profoundly changed our understanding of how health is transmitted and perpetuated across generations.
Metz has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, overseen more than 60 graduate and honours students, and been part of 61 funded grant applications resulting in $42.8 million in operating and infrastructure funding. Her ability to cross boundaries of research and build collaborative ventures in several related fields within neuroscience has led to groundbreaking discoveries and earned her international acclaim and respect.
