Ancillary Services

Delivers quality goods and customer services that enhance, promote, and support the University's primary functions of instruction and research through the following departments: Bookstore, Catering and Food Services, Conference and Event Services, Housing Services, and Print Services.

Facilities

Responsible for the planning, construction and renovation, maintenance, and operation of all physical building and infrastructure assets in a manner that contributes to the attractiveness and functionality of the educational environment.  Facilities consists of the following departments: Facilities Administration, Planning & Campus Architecture, Project Management Office, Building Operations, Building Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, Grounds, Caretaking, Utilities, Work Control, Security Services, Parking, and Risk and Safety Services.

Financial Planning

Accountable for the process of establishing financial goals for the institution and creating methods in reaching them.  The primary focus is to prepare, communicate, and execute the University's annual operating budget, capital budget, and access funds.

Financial Services

Facilitates an environment for the responsible use of public resources by establishing a system of monitoring financial internal controls, legislation, and accounting standards.  Key functional services provided to the University community include research, trust, ancillary and capital accounting and reporting, procurement of goods and services, shipping and receiving, mail services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, donation receipting, consolidated financial reporting, and coordination of external audits.

Human Resources

Human Resources is a multi-faceted department that plays a strategic role in supporting the continuing growth and success of the University through its responsibility to the human and employment function of this institution.  These responsibilities include recruitment; payroll; benefits; programs for management, faculty, and staff; performance management; wellness and labour relations; and related policies.  Human Resources encompasses the Health Centre, Records, and FOIPP, which all serve student, employee, and operational responsibilities.

Information Technology Services

 Is the Information Technology service provider at the University, delivering customer focused, innovative, holistic IT solutions that advance the University towards its strategic direction and enhance learning and research  Services include the Help Desk, Computer Labs and Classroom Support, Desktop Support, Communication Technologies (Telecom), Enterprise Solutions, Systems, and the Web Team.

Internal Audit

Helps the University accomplish its objectives by evaluating and recommending improvements to the effectivness of risk management, control, and governance processes.  Core services include assurance and consulting.

Legal Counsel

Manages the legal affairs of the University and oversees the delivery of legal services on behalf of the institution.  Services include providing legal advice and opinions to the University on policies and procedures, business and commercial contracts, human resource matters, intellectual property matters and compliance with applicable law, regulations and policies.

Sport and Recreation Services

Responsible for Pronghorn Athletics, non-credit recreation programs and opportunities for the University campus and the community, and managing the sport and recreation facilities, including intramural and youth programming, the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, the Fitness Centre, the Ascent Climbing Centre, Max Bell Aquatic Centre, Community Sports Stadium, and the Northside Recreation Facility.
