Ancillary Services

Delivers quality goods and customer services that enhance, promote, and support the University's primary functions of instruction and research through the following departments: Bookstore, Catering and Food Services, Conference and Event Services, Housing Services, and Print Services.

 

Facilities

Responsible for the planning, construction and renovation, maintenance, and operation of all physical building and infrastructure assets in a manner that contributes to the attractiveness and functionality of the educational environment. Facilities consists of the following departments: Building Maintenance, Campus Development, Caretaking, Grounds, Operations (Electrical, Mechanical, Utilities), Campus MobilityServices, Project Management Office, Campus Safety, Security, and Sustainability.

 

Financial Services

Facilitates an environment for the responsible use of public resources by establishing a system of monitoring financial internal controls, legislation, and accounting standards. Key functional services provided to the University community include research, trust, ancillary and capital accounting and reporting, procurement of goods and services, shipping and receiving, mail services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, donation receipting, consolidated financial reporting, and coordination of external audits.  Financial Services is also accountable for the process of establishing financial goals for the institution and creating methods in reaching them. The primary focus is to prepare, communicate, and execute the University's annual operating budget, and capital budget.

 

Human Resources

Human Resources is a multi-faceted department that plays a strategic role in supporting the continuing growth and success of the University through its responsibility to the human and employment function of this institution. These responsibilities include recruitment; payroll; benefits; programs for management, faculty, and staff; performance management; and wellness and labour relations.

 

Information Technology
 

Office of General Counsel

Manages the legal affairs of the University and oversees the delivery of legal services on behalf of the institution.  Services include providing legal advice to the University, its Board of Governors, and Senior Administration; acting as the central contact for legal inquiries and assistance; managing the University's legislative compliance program; managing business and commercial contracts and human resource matters; and managing intellectual property matters and compliance with applicable law, regulations, and policies.

 

Sport and Recreation Services

Responsible for Pronghorn Athletics, non-credit recreation programs and opportunities for the University campus and the community, and managing the sport and recreation facilities, including intramural and youth programming, the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, the Fitness Centre, the Ascent Climbing Centre, Max Bell Aquatic Centre, and the Community Sports Stadium.
