1st Choice Centre sees rise in usage

Southern Alberta is finding another reason to come to the University of Lethbridge – the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness. Having now completed its second full year of operations, there is context to the facility’s usage numbers and not surprisingly, they are on the rise. “We expected it to be quite popular, however maybe not this popular,” says Manager, Facilities & Services, Deb Marek. “We haven’t really ever marketed the facility.”

Planning well underway for fall semester

With all four University of Lethbridge Students’ Union (ULSU) Executive Council members having hit the ground running upon taking office May 1, several initiatives set for completion this summer are already well underway.

Inter-library loan e-mail delivery popular

If you’ve submitted an inter-library loan request recently, chances are you’ve experienced the University Library’s latest service improvement – e-mail delivery of article and book chapter requests. You can now access your filled journal article or book chapter request via a link to the item in PDF format, delivered to you via e-mail, often receiving your article and chapter requests within one day.

2009 Student Research Awards

AHFMR Health Research Studentship The Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR) Research Studentship is valued at $21,000 plus a $1,500 research allowance over 12 months. Return to school gives Poulsen new outlet for passion

Whether we laugh uproariously or shudder in abhorrence, it is probably safe to say that the mind-numbing monotony of Ben Stein’s character in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off does not inspire an interest in learning. With her passion and enthusiasm for dance, however, Betty Poulsen (BEd ’02), dance teacher at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, has inspired students for many years.
