Art Student Open House
The halls and studio spaces throughout the 8th level of the Centre for the Arts will be filled with student artwork during the 3rd Annual Art Student Open House, Apr. 21-22, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Students will proudly display their works in a variety of media including photography, prints, paintings, mixed media, sculpture, video and more. Many of the pieces are for sale.
“The Open House is a great opportunity for everyone to see the results of the activities going on in students’ studios all year long,” says Mary Kavanagh, Department of Art chairperson. “It is also an opportunity for the public to talk with students about their art practices and to view our excellent facilities.”
The Student Art Society organizes the Art Student Open House, with assistance from Art faculty. With almost 300 members, the Student Art Society is one of the largest clubs on the
U of L campus. It has been active since 2003 and endeavours to encourage and support student artists as they grow and develop.
