University a key WOTS festival partner

The University of Lethbridge is a partner with the Lethbridge Public Library and a host of other community organizations who are presenting the community's first-ever Word on the Street Festival, which takes place Sunday, Sept. 25.

Beginning at 11 a.m. in the parking lot and street surrounding the main branch of the Lethbridge Public Library (810 5th Ave. S.), Word on the Street is a national, one-day celebration of all things book and literacy related. The Lethbridge event is the only festival in Alberta and Lethbridge is the smallest community in the country to participate. Other cities include Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Kitchener and Saskatoon.

Admission to all the events associated with the festival is free.

The U of L Bookstore will be on-site as the official sales venue, while students from the Literature Club and the Education Undergraduate Society are volunteering as mascots, author hosts, readers and entertainers. The Art Gallery team and Faculty of Fine Arts students will also be on-site in various venues.
