Becoming a tutor is a great way to help your peers, build your resume, reinforce your knowledge in a subject and earn extra money!
Tutoring Services is continually hiring student tutors for all areas of study and for all campuses.
We are immediately seeking to hire tutors for the following courses:
- Chemistry 2500, Chemistry 2600
- Economics 1010 (Calgary Campus), Economics 2900 (Calgary Campus)
- English 2400
- Geography 1000
- Health Sciences 2003, Health Sciences 2400
- Kinesiology 1160, Kinesiology 2610
- Public Health 2000
The role of the tutor is to assist uLethbridge students in their academic development through regular study sessions that focus on increasing the understanding of concepts in a specific course. Tutoring may occur individually or in a small group setting. Sessions take place on campus during predetermined times where both the tutor and student(s) are available.
Contact assigned students within two days of receiving the assignment.
Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled tutoring sessions.
Establish a supportive relationship with student(s).
Use good listening and assessment skills to determine the student’s learning style.
Help students identify achievable study objectives.
Complete and hand in all required paperwork.
Must have full or part time student status.
Achieved a grade of B+ or greater in the course(s) to be tutored.
Responsible, dependable and sensitive to diverse student needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
