Counselling Options

Counselling offers a supportive and non-judgemental space in which to talk about your experience, learn new strategies for coping, and process trauma.  

On Campus

U of L Students: 

Counselling & Career Services  Anderson Hall, 153; 403-317-2845; counselling.services@uleth.ca  The uLethbridge Counselling Services offers free, confidential, counselling for trauma and sexual violence. Counsellors can help you go through options, develop coping strategies, and support academic accomodations. 

U of L Staff and Faculty: 

Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

The University of Lethbridge Employee Assistance Program is a confidential resource provided to help faculty, staff and family members (who are under the benefit plan) enhance their personal, workplace, and life balance. 

The Employee Family Assistance Program offers:

  • Identification and assessment of personal, family, and work-related problems;
  • Short-term counseling and consultation;
  • Referral to appropriate services and resources.

 

Off Campus

Subsidized and Community Counselling

Lethbridge Family Services 403-327-5724

Provides counselling support for those who have experienced sexual violence, with sliding scale fee rates available. Visit their website for more information.

Associates Counselling 403-381-6000 Offers counselling support for childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence. Costs for counselling services vary for the types of counselling, and the credentialing of the counsellor involved.  Costs for counselling are usually not covered by basic Alberta Health/Blue Cross.

Offer support with anxiety and depression. 

No referral is necessary and services are free to Albertans as costs are covered by your Alberta Health Care. You can call yourself or a medical practitioner can also refer you
