Why a Career in First Nations’ Governance?

The U of L is a leader in Native American studies and management education. The certificate and degree programs are offered through an innovative partnership between the Faculty of Management and the Department of Native American Studies. The programs present a unique blend of studies in First Nations governance and core business concepts, providing graduates with skills to take leadership roles in their communities and in management, entrepreneurial enterprises, band administration, First Nations liaison work, and self-government.

About the First Nations’ Governance Major

As a FNG major, you collaborate and learn with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and non-Native students in a small class environment. In addition to the guidance and support you receive from the Native Student Advisor and the FNG Coordinator, you will have access to dedicated tutorial support; scholarships and other financial support; mentorship, peer support, and social activities; elders support program; and Native American Student Association.
