Cords of Academic Distinction were inaugurated at the Spring 1999 Convocation. The cords are worn by undergraduate students whose outstanding academic achievement merits the designation of Distinction or Great Distinction as authorized by the Faculty which awards the degree. Blue cords signify Distinction while gold cords signify Great Distinction. Combined Degrees students earning Distinction or Great Distinction for both degrees wear two cords. Cords of Academic Distinction are not a part of the academic dress of the University and are worn only at the Convocation at which the degree is conferred. |
